Tasting Comment

You feel the flavor of lychee and melon. When you drop it in your mouth, the juicy sweetness and the fresh acidity spread. And, the flavor of melon comes next. It is like juicy musk melon. The texture is condensed. It contains some bitterness and it sharpens the taste. This is why you will not be bored with it even though it is very sweet.

The tips of this Ippon

This brewery is located in Iwate Prefecture. The brewery had been a soy source brewery. But, it changed their product from soy source to Japanese Sake in 1916. This area was originally called “Nanbu”. The brewery was named after it. They invited a famous disciple who was taught by No.1 Touji at that time. His experience pushed up their brewing skills. They made a success in Japan. As a next step, they attempted to export Japanese Sake because the sales volume of Japanese Sake in Japan would decrease. They joined Export Sake Association as one of founders. Their effort made a success. Nanbubijin is now listed on the first and business class menu in Emirates and Etihad Airways. Their flagship bottle is Junmai Ginjo. This bottle is a special version. It is common that they brew Japanese Sake in a lot of tanks. They choose and bottle the best tank in a year without adding water and filtering. And, they pasteurize it only seconds with special machine to avoid of changing the taste. This bottle is very special .
