Masuizumi, Kijo-Shu, Nama-Zake (Masuda Shuzou)

Tasting Comment

The color is faint yellow. You feel the flavor of pear modestly. When you drop it in your mouth, the sweetness of honey and the acidity spread. Both tastes give the thickness to this bottle. The sweetness of honey lasts long on your tongue. Even though it is very sweet, it is also elegant. The style of this bottle is close to that of Ice wine in Germen.

The tips of this Ippon

This brewery was originally founded in Hokkaido. They made success and increased their volume of production. However, they decided to come back their hometown, Iwase, Toyama Prefecture. Their principal is “Only who knows tasty foods can brew tasty Japanese Sake.” Toyama Prefecture is known as one of Gastronomy cities in Japan. Fresh seafoods and vegetables are famous. The characteristics, clear and rich, will bring out their local foods. They say, “Clear and dry Japanese Sake won’t be the best partners with their tasty local foods.” This bottle is Kijo-Shu. So, Japanese Sake is used in the brewing process instead of water. It gives the sweetness and the thick texture. And, the bottle is very stylish. The bottle is imported from Italy. It reminds me of Venus in Roman mythology.
