Hanagaki, Super Dry, Junmai-Shu 60, (Nambu Shuzojo Co., Ltd.)

Tasting Comment

You just feel the flavor of banana slightly. When you drop it in your mouth, you will be surprised at how it is dry and sharp. You drop it again and find gradually the sweetness of rice in it. Even though it is dry and sharp, the taste is gentle and smooth, pure. The style may be similar to that of fine Sherry (Fino).

The tips of this Ippon

Their brand, “Hanagaki,” is named after Cherry blossom with full bloom. The branches with full blooms overlap each other. This is like a flower henge. “Hana” means a flower. In this case, Cherry blossom. “Gaki” means a hedge. So, brand name represents it. The taste is really close to their image. The image of Cherry blossom, Japanese national flower, is elegant and beautiful. It also has the meaning of the innocence and the mildness. The concept of this bottle is “Super Dry.” So, this bottle is less representative than the others that I tried. But, it still represents the brand tastes. It is gentle and pure. The taste is also deep in flavor. If you love dry tastes or sherry wine (fino), you should try at once.
