Tasting Comment

You feel the typical flavor of Japanese Sake, alcohol and barrel. The flavor makes us remind “Omiki,” Japanese Sake offered to Gods in shines. When you drop it in your mouth, you find it very sharp and dry. And, the pure sweetness and some acidity follow. You also feel the richness in it gradually. The style is very classical. It may be hard for beginners. But, if you have some experience of Japanese Sake tasting, you must be surprised at the quality. You can enjoy it in cool, warm and hot in any styles. It depends on your feelings.

The tips of this Ippon

This brewery is located in Nada, Hyogo Prefecture. Nada is the one of the most famous Japanese Sake brewing areas. In Edo era, Nada’s Sake was famous for “Man style.” Kyoto’s Sake was famous for “Female Style.” The style of Nada is sharp, dry and rich. It comes from the quality of water. The water of Nada is hard water. It is said it holds more than 10 times of minerals compared to the water that is usually used for Japanese Sake brewing. They have been making efforts and it was recognized. Ise Jingu (Ise Grand Shrine) admits “Hakutaka” as their “Omiki.” Ise Shrine is the most prominent of shrines in Japan and an extraordinarily sacred place. “Hakataka” is the only Japanese Sake that is served for Gods there.
